THROUGH TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT WE TRANSFORM SMALL BUSINESS SUSTAINABILITY, PEOPLE, ORGANISATIONS, LIVES AND COMMUNITIES
The amended broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBE) codes, which came into effect on the 1stMay 2015, brought about new requirements for companies to comply with to achieve their desired B-BBEE levels. The revised codes place a greater focus on enterprise and supplier development (ESD), encouraging entrepreneurship which is also the highest contributor among all elements which include ownership composition, skills development, management and control, and socio-economic development.
At THE ESD INSTITUTE FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (PTY) LTD we developed an unique Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) model to assist South African companies to achieve their ESD points on the B-BBEE Scorecard. Drawing on the best practices of business incubator models worldwide. We pioneered Adopt-a-SMME™ – our own unique, world-renowned model of business incubation. We work with and develop entrepreneurs at all stages of their life cycles, and promote and help them build their businesses and ecosystems that they operate in.
Our “Business Growth and/or Adopt-a-SMME programme” qualifies as an Enterprise Development investment in terms of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 (“B-BBEE”) and the Codes of Good Practice. Private Sector, Companies, Institutions, and other partners can now secure their Enterprise Development points by contributing towards THE ESD FUND (NPC)’s incubation initiative in support of it’s “Adopt-a-SMME” programmes. This pool of capital is used to train, develop and fund black owned, black woman and youth owned businesses, actively involved within the manufacturing, supply and distribution business sector.
